Utenfor en ramponert og plyndret butikk i Peckham, sørøst i London har lokalbefolkningen hengt opp hundrevis av små lapper med oppmuntrende ord og støtteerklæringer, 10. august 2011. På lappene står det blant annet «Peckham 4-ever, London 4-ever», «Stop riots», «Why?», «I feel at home here», «Stop burning my city», «Stop violence», «I love the chicken and chips shops», «Peckham lives!» og «We could make this a beautiful place to live».
